The PONTI vase from our ‘ARCHITECTURE’ collection is a one-of-a-kind handcrafted piece created on the pottery wheel. The interior is glazed for functionality, while the exterior remains unglazed, highlighting its intricate pattern.
Inspired by and paying tribute to the iconic “Stuoia 1923” vase designed by the celebrated Italian designer Gio Ponti, the decoration is meticulously achieved using the shellac technique, adding depth and texture to its surface.
This vase undergoes two firings in an electric kiln: the first at 950°C (bisque firing) and the second at 1270°C (glaze firing). These high temperatures enhance the porcelain’s strength and durability, ensuring a robust and lasting piece.
At JHA PORCELAIN, we use only the finest porcelain clay, known for its exceptional strength, hardness, pure whiteness, and delicate translucency. Subtle imperfections and slight variations are a testament to the artisanal craftsmanship, making every vase a truly unique art object.
