Hello, I’m Isabella, and with this first letter, I want to welcome you to our world at Raremood.

I know your time is precious, so let me reassure you: I promise that, like all of us at Raremood, I will do my best to ensure that reading these letters is never a waste of your time.
Every month, we’ll talk about beauty, sustainability, and how small choices can make a big difference in your life and your home. Here, you’ll find only useful ideas, original reflections, and inspirations that can brighten your day. Moments to share together, to discover the value of beautiful things.
Because all of us have an enormous daily need for beauty. Beauty is universal: it’s a silent language understood by everyone, across all cultures and regions. It nourishes us, reassures us, and invites us to pause, even for just a moment. It acts like a deep breath—a moment of reconnection between our innermost selves and the world around us.
Beauty is not a luxury; it is a true necessity. One of the pioneers of sustainable design, Victor Papanek, reminded us that ‘the true function of design is to improve the quality of life.’ In this, beauty plays a silent and powerful role. It doesn’t just perform a function or add decoration; it educates, inspires, and guides. It’s not just something external—it’s something that changes you internally, making you feel better without you even realizing it.
Think about when you choose something for your home. It’s not just about practicality, is it? You look for an object that makes you feel at ease, that seems to speak your language. In doing so, you express an innate need for order, harmony, and pleasure. Soft shapes, natural materials… there’s something deeply rooted within us that draws us to these things. It’s called biophilia, an innate tendency in all living beings—including us—to seek a connection with nature and what evokes it. I’ve always felt this so strongly that it became the foundation of my life as a bioarchitect!
Paradoxically, even the most advanced technology can reconnect you with nature in profound ways. On Raremood, you’ll discover amazing objects that combine a primordial idea with a realization born of cutting-edge science.
Each one of these objects has a story, and that’s what we seek most of all: behind every object, there are always people, journeys, setbacks, victories, changes of direction, experiments, and then, finally, the result that convinces. The thrilling gamble of presenting it and seeing if it meets someone’s needs or dreams. And when it does, it brings the greatest satisfaction.
But for this to happen, in my many years of practice, I’ve realized that an object doesn’t need to be perfect to be beautiful. In fact, we often love it more when it isn’t because we recognize impermanence and imperfection as elevated forms of beauty and authenticity. An object must tell a story, live, and evolve with us.
I believe that beauty, in all its forms, helps us respect what surrounds us more. When I choose something I find beautiful, it’s not just about aesthetics. It’s as if I’m choosing something that adds value to the small moments of my day. It’s a way to celebrate life, even in its simplest forms.
So, here’s my invitation: when you choose something for your home and your life from now on, look beyond its function. Choose to give value to ordinary moments, to celebrate everyday life in its simplest forms with something that fills your day with stories and meanings, and that moves you. Beauty then becomes an act of resistance against superficiality and a celebration of depth and meaning in every single moment of the day.
