Artistic ceramics dedicated to the theme of drought. These pieces, shaped in dark stoneware, are coated with crumbled ceramic material. Their forms evoke classical containers, such as amphorae and kraters, reinterpreted in a contemporary way. However, these containers are unusable; they bear raw cuts that, after firing, no longer align or reconnect. The fissures are filled with iron wire in a clumsy attempt to stitch together what has been severed.
Like parched, lifeless earth, these broken vessels cannot hold water. “We will not find a way to restore the delicate and complex ecosystems we destroy. The lack of water will turn the land we live on from a bustling cradle of life into a place unfit for existence.”
