Climax ItalyClimax Italy Climax Italy is a spinoff of Terradice Atelier del Paesaggio, established to do research and development of products for sustainable architecture. Thanks to the know-how of internal technicians and the advice of excellent professionals, as well as the resources of the parent company, studies begin to create a technological system of vertical greenery that is truly sustainable. After three years of development, the Climax System was born from Climax: the world’s only continuous-substrate modular vertical green system that does not use potable water and uses AI and IOT to manage the inputs needed to make the system reliable, performant, and finally able to optimize ecosystem services. The other branches of Terradice (established in 2014) are engaged in the areas of landscape and environmental consulting and design, naturalistic engineering, restoration of historic parks, and design and construction of Biopiscine (swimming pools with pure water without chlorine or other chemicals). Undulations in sand that has been moved by the wind, rock formations caused by landslides, the crackle and patina in the wall of an old house; all these owe their special beauty to the random hand of Nature. The fire is the ultimate random part of the collaborative equation. I hope the fire will be my ally, but I know it will always transform the clay in ways I cannot anticipate.

Elena MilaniElena Milani Elena Milani designs and creates artistic ceramics for interiors and gardens. Her entire production is divided into series of ceramics, each rooted in a central concept that is developed to create unique, entirely handmade pieces. Each series draws inspiration from themes related to nature: plants, seeds, soil, leaves, fruits, insects, and more, aiming to tell the story of the natural world through organic forms. Her work with shapes and volumes is a process of subtraction, seeking an essence that evokes rather than describes nature. This narrative unfolds in multiple directions: it reflects on the significant anthropogenic impact on ecosystems, almost as an alarm call, while also celebrating the beauty of the natural world, driven by its distinctive life force. In 2015 I started the production of my porcelain … I still remember the satisfaction of looking at my first “perfect” cup! After a thousand attempts, errors and trials, I have become familiar with the subject and over time I have increased my technical confidence. Working with porcelain is a tough choice, because of all ceramics it is the most precious and elegant one. The only translucent one, and the most difficult, too. To create a handcrafted object in porcelain it takes at least 10 working days. A long job, which requires about ten steps, as well as two firings: the second one reaches a temperature of 1250 degrees centigrade. Each step of the birth of an object requires experience, sensitivity, and precision. This is why I have learned to value failure too, not to lose patience in the face of negative results.
