Have you ever observed the nests of different birds?
Not a single one is identical to another. And yet, one might casually comment, they are all still birds.
Absolutely not: each of them is different in size, lives a different life, feeds on different things, and has a unique story throughout the seasons. Some migrate to other countries and then return, some hibernate, some keep the same nest in the same place forever, while others build a new one each year. Most importantly, each nest is a marvelous feat of engineering, crafted perfectly to measure and built with techniques adapted to the shape and capabilities of the species’ beak that will inhabit it.
Why is that?
Because each bird is different from the others: it eats different foods, reproduces at different times and in different ways, treats its eggs differently, nurtures its chicks differently, and so forth. And to do all of this, it builds the best place on Earth for itself and its family — the perfect, soft, warm haven where its eggs can hatch, where it can care for its young, and where it can keep them safe until they learn to fly.
The same applies to us humans.
Each one of us is absolutely unique: we have different habits, needs, and physical builds; we come from cultures that influence our experiences, desires, ways of relaxing, and even the colors we prefer. Not to mention our state of health, what makes us feel better or worse, how we sleep, our emotional inclinations, and how we live our feelings.
And just like birds — or any other animal — all of this is closely tied to the shape and materials of the nest we create for ourselves.
Because home is the place where all our emotions are nurtured, both positive and negative.
It is where we seek rest and comfort when we return, where we recharge our batteries, where we hope to find refuge when we need focus, and where we want to live — and help our families live — safely.
In short, your home is the cradle of all that you hold most dear — and also the refuge of your soul.
Yet we humans often lose the innate skill to create our own nest: we look at magazines and copy them, we listen to friends’ advice, we follow trends — and we stop listening to our deepest instincts.
Keep reading us, and little by little, we will help you reconnect with that inner voice that already knows how to recognize the best choices for you.
