It is crafted using the most precise turning techniques to ensure that the pieces fit together perfectly. The turning process takes place on a lathe. After kneading the clay ball, it must be centered on the wheel by moving it up and down. The ball is then pierced in the center, and the sides are carefully shaped to the desired form. After about a day of drying, the piece reaches a leather-hard consistency, ideal for the turning phase. The piece is rotated on the wheel, and tools are used to tighten the lines and finish the base. Despite its apparent simplicity, this technique requires years of practice to achieve the satisfaction of turning the desired shape.
