Flensted Hanging Art

Flensted Hanging Art is a renowned Danish design brand that has been creating handmade hanging art since its founding in 1953. Established by the curious and passionate Christian Flensted, the brand was developed alongside his wife, Grethe, during its first 29 years. From the beginning, Flensted has been defined by its aesthetic and timeless design universe, crafted to create quiet, lasting memories for generations.
Each mobile is meticulously handcrafted in Denmark on the island of Funen, with great precision and care by skilled local artisans. Remarkably, the same production method established in 1953 remains in use today. The mobiles are assembled by local craftsmen, all of whom live within a 55-kilometer radius of the company’s headquarters.
From 1982 to 2023, Ole and Aase Flensted guided the brand, further developing its iconic designs that embody Flensted’s unique DNA. Today, the company is owned by Christophe Duez, the third generation, and led by CEO Jesper Hammer.
With a presence in prestigious stores and museums such as The Guggenheim, MoMA, Tate Gallery, and SMK, Flensted has cemented its status as a Danish design classic, proudly represented in 53 markets worldwide.
