An entrepreneur and creative artist since 1997, Onofrio Acone took his first steps in the ceramic workshop founded by his parents in 1982. Having grown up in that workshop, a passion for this incredible material with a thousand potentialities was born in him right from the start, and he developed his creativity with ceramics from the very start.
Why it is in The Green Circle
Onofrio Acone’s ceramics are not made on a lathe but with a very ancient technique that uses a continuous ribbon of clay twisted upon itself and then worked by hand. This is the recovery of ancient knowledge and the valorization of a culture that would otherwise risk disappearing. Its significant sustainability lies precisely in keeping this skill alive and spreading it globally, which uniquely characterizes its territory.
